Sex offender nabbed in motel hideout
Friday, June 24th, 2011The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested an East Texas sex offender and parole violator in a Caldwell motel on Wednesday morning.
Police arrested Calvin Henderson, 42, of Winona, around 6:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Highway 21 West in rural Burleson County.
“The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force will continue to use the collective resources of our federal and local law enforcement partners to pursue fugitives and hold them to account for their actions,” said Robert R. Almonte, United States marshal for the Western District of Texas.
Henderson had reportedly left to the Tyler area after he found out about recent warrants for not registering as a sex offender — one of his parole requirements.
Police moved in on Henderson when he was leaving his motel room, where he was hiding out. Henderson had a female and six children with him.
Police took Henderson to the Burleson County Detention Center in Caldwell, pending his transfer to Smith County in Tyler.
